There is a lot of debate about the authenticity of nasi goreng, whether it is from Malaysian or Indonesian ingredients. Some say that the sauce is uniquely Malaysian, while others believe that the sauce comes from both countries. Nevertheless, there are many people who enjoy nasi goreng and think it's a great dish.
Add one tablespoon of soy sauce. Add scallions (optional). Spoon in water if the mixture begins to get too dry. Remove the rice from the wok, add another spoon of oil, and carefully fry an egg to be draped on top of the nasi goreng. Garnish with cucumber slices, tomato, pickled vegetables, or cilantro. Serve and enjoy.
